Property Search: How to Find and Filter Properties
This guide walks you through how to use the Property Search tool to locate and filter properties for purchase.

Accessing the Property Search
From the left-side navigation menu, click on Property Search. This will open the main search interface where you can explore available properties.
Selecting a Location
At the top of the page, you can enter a location (e.g., a city, state, or region).
- Once selected, the system will display the total number of available properties in that area.
Using Filters
The Property Search tab includes several filters to help you narrow down results:
1. Data Type (Property Data Classification)
Choose the type of property data you want to view:
- STR Verified Homes - Properties verified as STRs through online listings or permits
- Big Box - Properties listed on a nationwide property manager's portfolio (included when STR-Verified Homes is selected)
- OTA - Properties listed on online travel agency platforms (included when STR-Verified Homes is selected)
- Permit - Properties with a known short-term rental permit on file (included when STR-Verified Homes is selected)
- STR Likely Condos - Properties in buildings known to be used as short-term rentals
- Absentee Owner - Properties where the site address does not match the owner mailing address
2. Property Type
Filter properties based on category:
- Single-family homes
- Multi-family properties
- Condos
- Hotels
- Niche or other property types
3. Property Characteristics
Customize results based on specific property details:
- Number of bedrooms and bathrooms
- Square footage
- Property value
4. Amenities & Features
Filter properties by included amenities:
Water Features
- Private pool
- Community pool
- Hot tub / Jacuzzi / Spa
Fire Features
- Fireplace
- Fire pit
- Furnace
Pet-Friendly
- Properties that allow pets
Ski Access
- Ski-in / Ski-out properties
Waterfront
- Lakefront
- Beachfront
- Oceanfront
- Riverfront
5. Host & Management Filters
Refine results based on:
- Host type
- Property management type
- RBO (Rent By Owner) A property owned and self-managed by the individual owner.
- Professional - A property operated by a property management company (PMC) on behalf of the owner.
- Listing count
6. Listing Information
Filter based on performance and engagement:
- Number of reviews
- Average rating
Note: Filters only apply where data is available; properties missing that information will not appear in filtered results.
Drawing a Custom Search Area
You can manually define a specific search area using the polygon tool:
- Enter a location (e.g., Tampa Bay, Florida).
- Use the drawing tool to outline your desired area on the map. Click to create the endpoints of your polygon. Click on a single endpoint to close (complete) your polygon.
- The system will only display properties within the selected polygon.
Save Search, Reviewing and Selecting Properties
After applying filters, be sure to click on Save Search should you wish to return to this exact search criteria. Next, click on Review Results to view the data in a list.
- The system will display:
- Total properties found
- Number of selected properties
- You can:
- Select individual properties
- Click “Select All” to include all results
- Add properties to your order.
- Click Checkout to complete ordering process.
